When it comes to footwear, fit is everything.  And we know that no two feet are the same - some are narrow, some wide, some have wide toes, others are wide across the forefoot, some have narrow heels, others have bunions, some have high arches or insteps (you get the idea!).

That’s why we take a different approach to fit .. by offering different styles to suit different foot types rather than relying on a one style suits all or a half size approach. If you have wide feet, we know how hard it is to find good fitting shoes and we know how hard it is to find a true wide fit shoe.

Many brands offer half sizes as their wide option, and here’s why we’ve chosen not to offer half sizes and how our design philosophy ensures the best fit for every foot.

The Truth About Half Sizes

Many people think half sizes provide a better fit, but in reality, they don’t offer as much variation as you might expect. In most cases, a half size shoe is simply made using the same last (the mold a shoe is built around) as the full size .. but with foam padding around it. This means it doesn’t actually change the width, volume or structure of the shoe in a meaningful way - it’s just a slightly larger version of the same size (generally by only a couple of millimetres).

If you have wide feet, a half size up won’t necessarily help because it doesn’t increase the shoe’s width in the right way and doesn't truly address the area where you need more space. That’s why a better solution is to choose a shoe style that is actually designed for your foot shape and offers a wider base.

Different Styles for Different Foot Widths

Instead of relying on half sizes, we focus on designing shoes that cater to different foot shapes and needs. One style or size shouldn’t fit all! That’s why our range options include:

• Styles with wider toe boxes and wider tongue gussets – Great for those with wide feet or bunions.

• Adjustable fits – Some of our styles feature laces, zips or stretch panels to accommodate different foot shapes and our internal footbeds are removable for more space (you can find an extra 1-1.5cm in our shoes by changing the footbed!).

• Supportive structured designs – Ideal for feet that need stability and alignment. All our footwear ranges include bio mechanical footbeds designed specifically to cater for the female foot.

By creating styles with different foot types in mind, we provide a better fit solution than simply offering a half size option that doesn’t truly make a difference.

Width Matters – But It’s Complicated (just like a Facebook relationship status)

Shoe width isn’t as simple as "narrow" or "wide." A foot can be wider in different areas - some people need extra room at the toes, others across the entire forefoot, and some require more vertical space. Half sizes don’t address these nuances, but our designs do.

We believe in fit solutions that actually work, rather than half measures (pun intended!). By offering different styles suited to various foot shapes and needs, we help women find shoes that truly fit and support them - without the confusion of half sizes.
